(English) Public Health Crisis Simulation Exercise: Navigating Access Challenges and Misinformation 2024

Introduction

(English) Public Health Crisis Simulation Exercise: Navigating Access Challenges and Misinformation

(English) Sudden and unexplained deaths have caused concerns in Chilandia, a town with a population of 50,000. Rumours are rapidly spreading about the causes of these deaths. Health misinformation and disinformation are harming people’s health and undermining the response of public health. A large portion of the population holds negative perceptions of essential lifesaving medicines and vaccines.

At the request of the Chilandian government, you will be deployed to support their emergency response and join the Country Team. Join us at the School of Public Health’s Global Health and Development [BASc(GHD)] Summer Programme for interactive activities simulating field-based scenarios. You will learn about practical issues and questions that global health experts face during a medical emergency crisis.

During the programme, you will also have the opportunity to directly engage with experts from the School of Public Health and guest organizations. They will share their experiences in decision-making during complex situations.
