Programme Overview
This summer, The University of Hong Kong’s Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) have collaborated to launch an enhanced Summer Attachment Programme, integrating innovative elements from HKUMed’s renowned Medify Summer Programme. Designed to inspire and equip the next generation of healthcare professionals, this revitalised initiative combines clinical exposure with interactive learning, mentorship, and immersive experiences. The programme will accommodate approximately 300 students (Current Secondary 5 / Year 12 / Grade 11 students )  through six intensive rounds, each spanning five days. Each student may apply for only one round of the programme.

Key Features

  1. Interactive Taster Sessions: Hands-on workshops and simulations to introduce students to core medical disciplines, technologies, and clinical skills.
  2. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Workshops: Collaborative case-solving sessions to cultivate critical thinking, teamwork, and practical application of medical knowledge.
  3. Elite Shadowing Opportunities: Direct observation of specialists and senior clinicians in action, with a focus on personalised learning through a roughly 1:4 tutor-to-student ratio.
  4. Hall Life & High Table Dinner: A residential experience fostering camaraderie among participants, alongside formal networking opportunities with faculty and professionals.
  5. Mentorship-Driven Structure: Close guidance from experienced mentors, ensuring tailored support and enriched learning outcomes.

Programme Structure

  • Duration: Intensive  five-day blocks delivered across six rounds during the summer.
  • Capacity: 50 students per round, with small-group activities to ensure individualised attention.
  • Shadowing Sessions: A roughly 1:4 mentorship model enables direct interaction with clinicians, emphasising experiential learning in real-world healthcare settings.
